The 2011-2012 TKA boys varsity soccer team is on the prowl again attempting to win a first ever District title. The team started slow, but gained momentum in the second half of the season, ending the regular season with a 9-8-5 record. The Lions have been led defensively by Nick Bates in goal, and a stellar back four consisting of J.C. Charles (Sr), Luke Mayer (Jr), Paul Schumacher (So), and Travis Gonzalez (So). The Lions have been led offensively by Lucas DaSilva (So) with a team leading eleven assists, and Austin Masi (Jr) with a team leading sixteen goals.
The team defeated John Carroll and Cardinal Newman in the district quarters and semifinals to advance to the final game. They will face off against The Benjamin School tonight at TKA’s Kahlert Stadium at 7 p.m. with a chance at the district championship.
