TKA Begins Renovation of Athletic Practice Facility
Today, crews began renovating a two-acre practice area currently used by King's middle school teams. By starting now, the finished field will be ready for practice at the start of the fall 2010 sports seasons.
In an effort to improve the athletic facilities at TKA, BCM Construction (Bob Biskupiak) and Bill Ruch Utility Contractor have teamed up to renovate the practice field just north of the King's softball field and south of the TKA track. The two companies will excavate, crown, and sprig that area with the same Bermuda grass that currently grows on TKA's stadium and track fields. The excavation will take about two weeks and the turf will grow to maturity in about three months. The field renovation will help alleviate practice congestion on game fields and provide a safer and more level practice surface for all of King's teams.
Adam Winters, TKA Athletic Director, commented, "Thanks to the generosity of BCM Construction and Bill Ruch Utility Contractor, this newly constructed field will support the TKA athletic department's vision to produce championship teams at all levels that honor God and the Lord Jesus Christ."
