ADDITION OF PUJOLS ADDS MORE MLB EXPERIENCE TO THE LIONS BASEBALL STAFF

All within The King’s Academy community know Jarrod Saltalamacchia by now. Our Head Baseball coach is entering his 4th season leading the Lions program. Since taking over, from ex-MLB player Brad Wilkerson who is now with the Yankees, Jarrod has a 36-16 record and the first District Championship for the program since 2012. Jarrod had a successful 12-year MLB career as a catcher, including starting and batting .273 for the 2013 World Series Champion Red Sox. Adding to the MLB pedigree this season for the TKA Lions Baseball staff is Luis Pujols.
Luis is the cousin of MLB great and future hall of famer Albert Pujols. He played in the MLB himself for 9 years as a catcher, mainly with the Houston Astros. Luis has quite an impressive coaching resume. He coached with the Montreal Expos, Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants, and on the Dominican team for the 2009 World Baseball Classic. Managerial positions for Luis included 2002 with Detroit Tigers and Single A/Double A in the minors leagues.
Make sure to check out Lions Baseball this season as our program continues to improve in all areas!
