Lions Claim 4th Straight Title

WEST PALM BEACH- The King’s Academy girls basketball program won their fourth straight district title on Friday night, defeating Somerset Prep 60-48. After last winning a district championship in 2013, the Lions have established themselves as the dominant girls basketball program in Palm Beach County over the last five years.
The visiting Spartans gave the Lions a battle early on, trailing TKA just 30-26 at the half. A motivated Lions squad came out of the locker room in the second half, however, going on a 19-2 run to take control of the game. Junior Jade Jones led the charge with a game-high 20 points. Junior Sophia Kateris added 19 points and sophomore Madelyn Buccilli dropped in 11.
The Lions will host The First Academy on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm at the Loveland Athletic Center.
