Lions Roar to District Title

WEST PALM BEACH- It was a tale of two halves at Tuesday night’s boys district soccer championship, as the King’s Academy broke a scoreless halftime tie with Benjamin to roll to a 5-0 district championship win.

While Benjamin controlled possession early in the game, it was all Lions in the second half. Shortly after the break, Canaan Deloach opened the scoring on a goal off a ricochet to open the scoring.  Shortly thereafter, Michael Ahearn quick played an indirect kick into an easy goal to give the Lions a 2-0 lead.  Ahearn wasn’t done, however, as he scored twice more to extend the lead to an insurmountable 4-0 advantage.  Malachi Kelly headed in a corner kick in the waning seconds to give the Lions a 5-0 lead and the district championship.

The title was the Lions first since 2021 and fifth in program history.  TKA is projected to be the second seed in the region and will host a playoff game on Tuesday, February 3.
