HOMESTEAD, FL- The King’s Academy girls weightlifting team continued their impressive second season on Saturday as they claimed the 1A Region 8 title in Traditional Weightlifting.  The championship is the first regional victory in program history and the second state tournament win this season.

Six Lions advanced to the state finals with excellent performances.  Ashlyn Martin and Sasha Cousins were regional champions in their weight class to pace the Lions.  Amanda Thompson, Sophia Ruiz, Sofia Cousins, and TeeTee Rasmussen also advanced to next week’s state finals.
