Lions Win State Title!

WINTER HAVEN- The King’s Academy volleyball program concluded a magical season on Wednesday night, winning the program’s first state championship since 2006. The Lions overcame an excellent Pine Crest team 3-1 before a raucous crowd at Polk State College, finishing a 25-5 season that will never be forgotten.

The Lions had an excellent regular season, but they turned up their play in the playoffs.  TKA was 7-0 in post season play, losing just one set throughout the entire run.  They advanced to the championship match with a resounding 3-0 win over highly ranked Pensacola Catholic on Tuesday.  They came out on Wednesday with momentum and won game one 25-15.  The Panthers, however, battled back to take game two.  The Lions would not be denied, as they roared back in game three and held off Pine Crest in game four.  Senior Miranda Knoll, a Northwestern commit and one of the best players in program history, fittingly ended the game and the season with a kill down the line.

The state championship was the fourth in program history, following titles in 1993, 1994, and 2006.  The title was the third in three years for King’s Athletics, joining 2025 boys volleyball and 2026 girls soccer.
