FORT LAUDERDALE- Behind a rugged defense and a breakout offensive performance, the King’s Academy improved to 4-0 with a 35-12 rout of Nova Southeastern University on Thursday.

The Lions defense continued its outstanding play, holding the Sharks to two first half scores and pitching a shutout in the second half.  Senior Ben McPherson had a big interception early in the second half that set up TKA to take control of the game.  In four games, the Lions defense has allowed just 8.0 ppg.

The offense continued to round in to form, led by the play of sophomore quarterback Aydan Elam.  The elusive runner rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns while also racking up 149 passing yards and two scores through the air.  Jack Miller and Jacob Tome each had long touchdown catches.  Sophomore Fletcher Hodges put an exclamation point on the game with an electric 48-yard touchdown to close out the scoring.

The Lions will be on the road again this week as they head south to play undefeated Miami Beach (5A).  That game is slated to kick off at 7:00 pm in Miami.
